My name is Sofia Margherita Salvini, and I am a native Italian translator specializing in translations from English and Spanish.
I was born and raised in the wonderful Desenzano del Garda, which has always welcomed tourists from all over the world. The desire to learn other languages and cultures was born precisely here, together with my passion for literature.
After graduating from the University of Trento, with a degree in Euro-American Literature, Translation, and Literary Criticism, I continued to deepen my knowledge with master’s degrees and specialized courses.
I mainly translate fiction, especially romance in all its nuances and subgenres. Although romance is often criticized and underestimated, it is the most popular genre and on a that best tells about the changes in our society, makes us think, gives us emotions, and still allows us to dream.
The perception of love, women, and social dynamics is even more evident in Regency novels, which I particularly love, where historical accuracy and terminology are essential: clothing, food, means of transport, and everyday objects are just some of the aspects that must always be researched and verified. The same precision and accuracy are the basis of all my translation projects.
Planting the Future
My forest on Tree-Nation
Since 2018, along with other volunteers, I have been translating contents available on the Tree-Nation website. From the characteristics of individual trees to various features of the platform, I have translated and localized numerous materials for the Italian audience. I am pleased to showcase that my commitment has transformed into a dense forest, offsetting my CO2 emissions.
